The Tooling Maintenance Lead works independently and is responsible for executing and overseeing daily mold maintenance and changeover operations supports production by ensuring molds are disassembled, cleaned, inspected, reassembled, and staged efficiently and accurately. The Lead will also mentor and point of contact for mold-related concerns.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Follow and update IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements based on planner instructions
Green-tag molds and move to staging areas within the molding department
Disassemble, clean, and inspect molds for wear or issues
Install changeover parts as needed
Measure components (pins, bushings, etc.) to determine wear and ensure proper fit
Maintain accurate mold tagging and record-keeping systems
Diagnose and resolve tooling/molding issues
Collaborate with molding and press-side teams
Communicate with outside vendors; create requisitions as needed
Operate hand tools, power tools, Bridgeports, grinders, and lathes
Use ice blasting equipment when necessary
Train and lead Machinist III team members
Supervise team workload to meet production schedules
Practice good housekeeping and support environmental safety standards
Education & Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 8 years of experience with industrial or automotive mechanical equipment
Experience working with injection molds strongly preferred
Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred
Skills & Abilities

Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret micrometers, blueprints, and work instructions
Solid math and reading comprehension
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
Ability to lead, organize, and train team members
Experience with hydraulic cylinders and rebuild processes preferred
