Farm Equipment Operator and Maintenance (6372)
Location
Mattoon, Illinois
Responsibilities
Operation and general maintenance of farm equipment and farmstead.
Operate semi tractors, trailers, and large farming equipment; haul grain during and after harvest (no overnight over‑the‑road hauling).
Repair field tile, perform light repairs on modern farm equipment, and maintain grain bins, dryer, and storage facilities.
Warehouse and deliver seed; climb and maintain bins.
Operate and maintain GPS and computer equipment systems.
Operate forklifts.
Qualifications
Knowledge of a working grain farm.
Class A CDL license.
Demonstrated ability to operate large farm equipment.
Experience in general farm maintenance.
Ability to keep accurate and timely maintenance records.
Flexible working hours during spring planting and fall harvest.
Experience Requirements
Experience working on a grain farm.
Experience operating large farm equipment such as John Deere 4‑wheel drive, John Deere Front Wheel Assist, and John Deere Combine.
Experience with semi tractors, trailers, and various other equipment.
Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills
Class A CDL license.
Experience operating large modern farm equipment.
General maintenance (painting, carpentry, etc.).
Shop skills: welding, woodworking, fabricating, tire changing, etc.
