Summary
A body repair technician is able to repair vehicle bodies and straighten vehicle frames.
Duties and Responsibilities
Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages
Return the vehicle back to factory specifications
Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body
Can properly fill depressions with body filler and insure a quality repair
Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch
Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment
File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand toolsReplace bolts on panels and align properly
Make cosmetic repairs
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications
Able to develop appropriate and efficient methods for each job
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
1-4 years body shop experience strongly preferred.
Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.
Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk stairs and/or climb ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
