Data Engineer
Einride AB, Brockport, NY, United States
Want to be part of transforming road freight – for good? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, electric and autonomous technologies. Through freight capacity as a service, we enable businesses around the world to accelerate towards their sustainability goals.
Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a US public road. Today our award‑winning technology has been launched across 8 countries (and counting). Our clients are some of the world’s biggest shippers, including Fortune 500 companies. We are also operating Sweden’s largest truck dedicated public charging network and counting.
We are accelerating the electrification of the heavy‑duty transportation industry by building the electric freight planning platform Saga. This platform includes systems for communicating with external assets (like vehicles and chargers), optimization engines, interfaces for transport planning, and machine learning models for predicting energy consumption. Now we are looking for an enthusiastic, humble, and creative Data Engineer to join us on this ambitious journey to electrify the transportation industry.
As a Data Engineer
You will be joining the Analytics Platform team, which is responsible for building and maintaining our core data platform. We deliver key data‑products that power our transport planning software and drive internal business improvements. We build and safeguard the connection between our business objectives, the operational data model, and the analytical data model, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
The team works end to end across the data stack, and you will be in close contact with a wide range of technical and non‑technical colleagues. To make an impact in such a dynamic environment, we believe that you enjoy the versatility of jumping from the nitty‑gritty details of terraforming the infrastructure for our orchestration platform in GCP, to engaging with business users translating their daily workflows into analytical data models that will simplify their lives.
You will
Work with external and internal data consumers to understand and predict their needs in terms of datasets and data access
Build and orchestrate high quality data pipelines to power the our Saga transport planning software, business reports and machine learning models
We expect you to
Have experience in working hands‑on with real‑world datasets
Have working experience using some modern, cloud‑native data engineering tools. We use SQL, BigQuery, dbt, Dagster and Google Pub/Sub among others.
Have experience with some general‑purpose programming language such as Python, Java or Go
Champion data engineering best practices and guide colleagues in their adoption
Be service minded and comfortable having conversations with business users
This is a full‑time, hybrid position based in either Stockholm or Gothenburg. We highly value in‑person collaboration, so we are looking for candidates who are happy to join us in the office a couple of days each week.
