Compensation and Hours
Shift Type: Full‑Time

Employment Begins: As soon as possible
Primary Purpose
To plan, develop, and implement an effective instructional program that utilizes research findings, technology, financial and community resources, so that student achievement is maximized.
Qualifications
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate state certification for the subject and level assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates cognitive understanding of subject matter, pedagogical skills, excellent communication, behavior management, public relations, conflict resolution, organizational consensus building, instructional planning, cultural diversity, instructional strategies and technology, assessment practices, and technology impact.
Experience: None required beyond certification from an accredited teacher‑preparation program; alternatives acceptable.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, organize, and provide appropriate learning experiences within assigned area(s).
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and responsive to student maturity, interest, and abilities.
Guide the learning process toward achievement of district curriculum goals.
Employ diverse instructional techniques and media appropriate to student needs and classroom limitations.
Assess student progress, provide reports, and communicate with parents as needed.
Identify special needs of students and seek assistance when needed.
Collaborate with special‑education teachers to modify curricula per IEP guidelines.
Develop student behavior plans consistent with administrative policies.
Maintain accurate records per law, district policy, and regulation.
Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Be available to students daily and to parents by appointment.
Plan and supervise assignments for aides, volunteers, and student teachers, and evaluate them as required.
Maintain a professional growth program that fulfills district requirements and personal development.
Participate in teacher evaluation processes and contribute to mutual agreement of results.
Attend campus and district meetings; attend traditional school‑sponsored activities as agreed with principal.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Aides, student teachers, student groups, and others as assigned by the administration.
Working Conditions
Mental Demands: Communicating well, making decisions regarding students’ educational, physical, and emotional well‑being, and maintaining emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Standing, walking, and speaking for long periods; lifting small stacks of books, media equipment, desks, or other classroom equipment; frequent, irregular, and prolonged hours.
