Description
A professional that is responsible for educating students in grades 6-8 in various mathematical disciplines, preparing them for future academic and career opportunities.
Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver engaging math lessons covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus
Evaluate and record student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
Maintain discipline and order in the classroom to create a conducive learning environment
Communicate with parents regarding students' progress and behavior
Stay updated on curriculum changes and teaching standards, and participate in school activities and events
Provide additional support for students struggling with key concepts and prepare them for standardized tests
Strong understanding of mathematical principals, excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in using technology for instruction
Qualifications
Holds or is eligible for WV Professional Teaching Certificate in Mathematics 5-9.
Requirements
Must pass a background check
Mandatory training sessions
Salary
Salary based on experience and education level per TCBOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
