Summary
The Valve Technician is responsible for assembling (disassembly) valve/packing cases and inspecting all items that come into the Valve shop. Assist the shop with customer deliveries in a company vehicle.
Responsibilities
Assemble (disassembly) valves/packing cases correctly and in a timely manner.
Test all valves and packing cases according to company procedures.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Participating in company Lean and 5S initiatives
Make pickup and deliveries to and from customer sites as needed
Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Job Requirements
HS diploma or related job experience
Be able to read O.D. and depths mics along with dial calipers.
Clean driving record and must operate a vehicle safely when driving on companies’ behalf
Valid drivers license with no infractions
Mental/Visual/Physical Effort
Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feet
Occasionally required to sit
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
MATERIAL HAZARDS
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
