Talascend is currently seeking a
Battery Lab Technician
for a contract opportunity with our client in
Warren, Michigan .
Overview
Assist in test setup and disassembly of high-voltage batteries, perform fabrication work, and support engineering staff in testing new electric vehicle battery technology at a non-production test facility.
Responsibilities
Champion safe test setup for battery assemblies and related components.
Develop and manufacture special purpose instrumentation, cable and wiring assemblies, laboratory test equipment, and fixtures.
Perform physical duties involving large and heavy high voltage batteries including movement, shipping, and disposal.
Maintain records on work performed, including data collected or analyzed.
Maintain awareness of business plan deployment goals and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop, implement, and sustain workplace organization practices.
Communicate findings with engineering personnel through verbal or written means.
Recommend revisions to product or component design as needed.
Conduct or assist with safety and abuse testing.
Conduct or assist with teardown and analysis of battery cells, modules, and packs.
Perform vibration testing including working above 6 ft and using cranes and rigging.
Complete all required training courses including respirator, cranes/hoist, Lockout, etc.
Qualifications
High school diploma
At least 2 years of mechanical experience or relevant knowledge of basic hand tools
Basic mechanical skills
Willingness to learn client systems and procedures
Demonstrated ability to perform physical duties involving large and heavy high voltage batteries, maintain work records, and communicate findings with engineering personnel
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to learn client systems over extensive experience
