is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our team.
Position Overview
The Emergency Veterinary Technician/Assistant supports hospital operations by providing quality veterinary care and exceptional service to patients and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations, reviewing care plans, completing laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging.
Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, vaccines, and bandaging wounds.
Support examinations and operations by assembling supplies, restraining patients, and assisting as directed by the veterinarian.
Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment usage, and drug administration.
Obtain and verify medications.
Ensure patients have food and water, maintain clean rooms, cages, and equipment; observe for clinical signs of disease.
Administer medications and fill prescriptions, documenting and securing controlled drugs.
Maintain a safe, healthy, humane environment by sterilizing instruments, sanitizing areas, and complying with regulations.
Maintain medical records by documenting patient conditions and updates in the database.
Communicate with pet owners about patient status as directed by the veterinarian.
Maintain equipment through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
Maintain inventory, place orders, and manage receipts.
Pursue continuing education and professional development.
Release pets to owners ensuring cleanliness and grooming.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager or practice.
Qualifications
RVT, LVT, or CVT preferred.
0–1 year of veterinary medicine experience preferred.
Schedule
Evening shifts: 2:00 PM–2:00 AM any day Monday‑Sunday.
Overnight shifts any day Monday‑Sunday.
Open to PRN or part-time (1–2 shifts per week).
Pay Range
$16.00 – $27.12 USD.
