Our client, a leading full-service property management company, is seeking an experienced
Maintenance Supervisor
to lead maintenance operations at a
multifamily residential community
in Jersey City, NJ.
This individual will oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, lead a team of technicians, and ensure the property is maintained to high standards of safety, functionality, and resident satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and support a team of maintenance technicians
Assign, prioritize, and inspect completion of
work orders and service requests
Oversee
apartment turns / make-ready process , ensuring timely unit readiness
Perform hands‑on maintenance and repairs including
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
Ensure the overall condition, curb appeal, and functionality of buildings and grounds
Manage
preventive maintenance programs
and track work order completion
Coordinate
on‑call schedules
to ensure 24/7 emergency maintenance coverage
Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies
Work with
vendors and contractors
for specialized repairs and services
Ensure compliance with
OSHA and safety standards
Utilize
property management / maintenance software systems
to track work orders and maintenance activity
Conduct routine inspections and safety meetings with maintenance staff
Qualifications
3+ years of
property maintenance experience within a multifamily residential environment
Prior experience in a
lead or supervisory maintenance role
(e.G., Maintenance Supervisor, Lead Maintenance Technician)
Hands‑on experience with
HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
Experience managing
work orders, preventive maintenance, and apartment turns (make‑readies)
Ability to be on‑call and work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to perform physical job duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and working in various positions (standing, bending, kneeling, etc.)
Compensation
Base salary in the 72k – 83k/year range
