Maintenance Worker Mechanic - MWM
Reports to
Foreman
Job requirements
Have formal training in heavy equipment and/or diesel engine repairs or a minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as a heavy equipment or diesel mechanic.
Must provide their own tools.
Possess and maintain a valid Illinois Class B CDL license.
Be available on a 24 hour/7day basis.
Ability to occasionally lift 50 to 100 pounds and frequently lift 25 to 50 pounds.
Anticipated hours per week
40 with some overtime.
The Maintenance Worker Mechanic (MWM) under limited supervision performs the duties of a Maintenance Worker and in addition will perform preventative and corrective mechanical work on all County Highway equipment and vehicles including diagnostic procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining a parts inventory and the shop area.
The Maintenance Worker Mechanic Specialist (MWM) shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
The MWM shall perform all duties of a Maintenance Worker.
He/she shall perform routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
The MWM performs minor and major repairs on equipment/vehicles as required.
He/she will maintain a stock of routinely used parts and supplies (i.e.: oil filters, belts, hoses, nuts, bolts, oil, grease, etc.)
He/she shall order parts and supplies as needed.
The MWM will perform field repairs, both temporary and/or permanent, of equipment as needed.
He/she is responsible for general cleaning of the shop area (i.e.: sweeping, clearing of debris, specialized equipment cleaning, etc.)
In addition to these duties, the Maintenance Worker Mechanic shall perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.
