CTG is hiring a Mechanical Technician III to support manufacturing engineering projects focused on equipment installation, capacity expansion, and mechanical system optimization. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician with strong troubleshooting expertise and experience in fast-paced production environments.

Job Title: Mechanical Technician III
Location: Newton, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am–5pm
Education: Associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support installation, startup, and debugging of manufacturing equipment
Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, etc.)
Align, test, and calibrate equipment post-installation
Analyze and resolve mechanical/process issues using data and root cause methods
Implement equipment and process improvements to increase reliability and efficiency
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and vendors to meet project timelines
Maintain documentation and support training for operations teams
Manage spare parts identification and inventory coordination
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience with equipment installation in a manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gear systems, and conveyors
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CMMS systems
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
Startup/commissioning experience
Experience working with vendors and suppliers
CAD experience
Mechanical certifications (Millwright, HVAC, Welding)
OSHA or safety certifications
