Maintenance Technician (Industrial Operations)
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our fast-paced, high‑performing team. This is a full-time role with a typical schedule of 40+ hours per week, with opportunities for overtime. The position follows a 4‑day workweek (four 10‑hour shifts).
In this hands‑on role, you’ll be essential to keeping our industrial laundry operations running smoothly. You’ll maintain and service key equipment—including washers, dryers, ironers, conveyors, boilers, and air compressors. Using your knowledge of preventative maintenance and advanced troubleshooting, you’ll help reduce downtime, improve efficiency, and ensure our facility operates at peak performance.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair: Troubleshoot electro‑mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; identify root causes and execute corrective repairs with minimal supervision.
Electrical work: Read and interpret schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams; install and terminate control wiring up to 480V three‑phase.
Preventive maintenance: Perform scheduled PM tasks on motors, drives, PLCs, conveyors, robotics, and automated assembly equipment per manufacturer and internal standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Safety & compliance: Adhere to all OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site‑specific lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures; participate in safety audits.
Continuous improvement: Identify recurring failure modes and recommend process or equipment modifications to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
Team support: Provide guidance and on‑the‑job training to Technician I team members; collaborate with engineering on capital projects and equipment commissioning.
Uphold equipment standards following manufacturer and company guidelines.
Engage in expansion, renovation, and cost‑saving projects as needed.
Operate comfortably with pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic schematics.
Demonstrate proficiency in electronic and electrical capabilities.
Exhibit hands‑on experience with PLCs, motors, and electrical circuits.
Understand pneumatics, compressed air systems, and hydraulic systems.
Navigate industrial‑sized boilers and steam systems confidently.
Repair various pump styles (water and air).
Operate forklifts and scissor lifts.
Tackle outdoor work, even in inclement weather.
Occasionally travel and work comfortably at heights.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years old.
Associate degree or technical certificate in Electro‑Mechanical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or related field.
3–5 years of hands‑on electro‑mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in AC/DC motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control panels.
Experience with PLC‑based systems and the ability to interpret ladder logic.
Proficiency reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
LOTO certification and NFPA 70E Electrical Safety awareness.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied conditions including heights and confined spaces.
