
Carpentry Craftsperson

Position Summary
The Carpentry Craftsperson performs skilled carpentry work including theinstallation, repair, and construction of structures, fixtures, and furnishings across districtfacilities. This position works independently to complete assigned work orders, applyingknowledge of carpentry methods, materials, building codes, and safety standards. Thisrole requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, measure and fabricate materials,and execute projects ranging from routine repairs to moderate construction tasks. TheCarpentry Craftsperson coordinates with other maintenance shops as needed and reports labor,material costs, and work order information to the Foreperson daily. This position is part of the Skilled Trades career track within the Maintenance department. This position operates with a high degree of independence and is expected to complete assignments with minimalsupervision.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited trade school program in carpentry or related field preferred
Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in carpentry or general construction
Experience working in commercial, institutional, or educational facilities preferred
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with no restrictions that would preclude driving on the job required
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, tools, and standard constructionpractices
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry and generalconstruction
Knowledge of applicable building codes, safety standards, and district maintenanceprocedures
Ability to accurately measure, cut, and fabricate wood and other building materials
Ability to estimate labor and material costs for assigned projects
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to plan and coordinate work schedules to complete assignments independently
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, school staff, and other tradespersonnel
Proficiency with CMMS software and basic computer applications including MicrosoftOffice
