
Mold Setup Technician - 2nd Shift

POSITION: Mold Setup Technician - 2nd Shift
Mold Set Tech Essential Functions:
To ensure that dies are changed efficiently per the production schedule, and production material is filled for start up
Efficiently remove existing molds and dies from presses
Install next scheduled mold or die and ensure minimal downtime
Set up thermolators
Make hoses as required for molds
Ensure molds are set safely and correctly, utilizing the proper equipment set up per the process book (nozzle tip, knockouts, watered correctly, etc.)
Fill and maintain materials for both insert and injection presses as needed for mold change
Maintain and clean hoppers and grinders as necessary for "complete" mold changes
May be requested to function as a material handler per the request of the Supervisor
May be requested to complete additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Job Requirements
Strong mechanical aptitude
Exerting up to fifty-six (56) pounds of force frequently
Operate a fork truck and overhead crane
Support all Lear environmental, quality, health and safety procedures and rules.
Ensure that proper procedures are followed, and the working environment is healthy and safe
Work as a team with fellow employees and train new employees in the classification
Maintains the work area in accordance with 5S standards.
Complete additional tasks assigned by Shift Supervisor / Department Manager
Mold Set Tech Evaluations
Mold Set Tech evaluation will be made on a weekly basis.
Training will follow the training plan.
There is a 60-day qualification period.
Working Conditions
Degree of Physical Demands (Strength) usually associated with this classification:
Lifting packages up to 56 pounds.
Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and occasional crouching.
Environmental conditions (Physical Surroundings) usually associated with this classification:
The associate is subject to environmental conditions common to a plant environment, including cramped conditions between presses and enclosures.
Some exposure to loud noise and oil.
Environmental conditions (Hazards) usually associated with this classified:
Exposure to Hi-Lo traffic, battery charger, possible cuts from material tail and banding, occasional exposure to wet or slippery dock plates.
