Job Summary / Basic Function
The Department of History at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) faculty position (#110090) at the rank of lecturer. This is a one-year temporary appointment. The contract may be renewed annually based on available funding, demonstrated need, and satisfactory performance as assessed by annual evaluations. The appointment start date is August 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will be a specialist in American History or Tennessee History and will be prepared to teach U.S. and Tennessee history surveys. Excellence in teaching is expected.
Required Education
A terminal degree in history or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
