Summary
This position is located at the Royal C Johnson VA Health Care System in Sioux Falls - South Dakota.

Responsibilities

The Neurology Nurse Practitioner serves as a key member of the Neurology team - providing advanced practice care to patients with neurological conditions

The APN is responsible for managing the day-to-day neurology needs of patients

The APN will work in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and optimize patient outcomes

Independently manage a panel of patients with both acute and chronic neurological conditions - emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention through evidence-based practices

Develop and implement individualized care plans to optimize population health and chronic disease management

Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment interventions in accordance with VA protocols

Initiate referrals and consults to neurology sub‑specialties and other relevant services as needed; demonstrate leadership and collaborate actively with interdisciplinary neurology care teams

Provide patient and family education on diagnosis - treatment options - self‑management - and lifestyle adjustments

Continuously assess and adjust care plans based on patient response to improve outcomes; exemplifies the ICARE core values of Integrity - Commitment - Advocacy - Respect - and Excellence

Preferred Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in neurology.
