The Production / Manufacturing Engineering team supports efficient, safe, and repeatable manufacturing operations through process design, optimization, and standardization. A key part of this work is developing and maintaining

SOPs

that ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across the production environment.

This internship supports Manufacturing Engineering initiatives by strengthening process documentation and enabling continuous improvement efforts on the shop floor.

As an

SOP Intern , you will support

Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams

by assisting with SOP‑related projects focused on documenting, standardizing, and improving manufacturing processes. This role provides hands‑on exposure to production operations while building foundational skills in process documentation and continuous improvement.

So, what will you be doing as an SOP Intern?

SOP Development Support

– Assist Manufacturing Engineers with drafting, updating, and improving SOPs for production and manufacturing processes.

Process Documentation

– Observe shop‑floor operations and work with subject matter experts to document current‑state processes.

Standardization Efforts

– Help ensure SOPs follow established formatting, naming, and documentation standards.

Process Improvement Alignment

– Support SOP updates tied to continuous improvement, safety, quality, or efficiency projects.

Review & Validation

– Assist with reviewing SOPs for clarity, accuracy, and alignment with real‑world production practices.

Version Control & Organization

– Help manage SOP revisions, approvals, and document storage for accessibility and consistency.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

– Work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and CI teams.

Additional duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Currently pursuing a

Bachelor’s degree

in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to observe processes and translate them into clear written instructions.

Willingness to work in a

manufacturing / production environment .

Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.

Things we consider a plus:

Exposure to

manufacturing processes

or shop‑floor operations.

Coursework or experience in

continuous improvement , lean manufacturing, or quality systems.

Familiarity with SOPs, work instructions, or engineering documentation.

Experience using Microsoft Word, SharePoint, or similar documentation tools.
