RN Director Inpatient Hospice Center, Registered Nurse

Location: Chicago, IL / Naperville, IL

Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 per year (offer based on years of experience)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Employment Type: Full‑time

Qualifications

Registered Nurse license in state(s) practicing. Certified Hospice Nurse preferred.

Current CPR certification.

Minimum three years of experience in hospice, home health, general medical‑surgical, oncology or patient population‑specific nursing (e.g., geriatrics, pediatric).

Minimum one year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise all direct patient/family care team members, including nurses, social workers, hospice aides and counselors.

Ensure all patient/family services comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and accepted professional standards.

Participate in selection and evaluation of direct patient/family care team members.

Participate in orientation and ongoing education of staff and volunteers.

Ensure that all initial assessments and required re‑assessments are conducted by qualified team members within required time frames.

Coordinate the development, implementation and review of the interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient/family.

Ensure 24‑hour availability of nursing and psychosocial services to patients/families and coordinate on‑call assignments.

Conduct interdisciplinary team meetings, maintain appropriate documentation, or designate these functions to a qualified team member.
