Mobility Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – PRN

Job Description
The Mobility LPN reports to the Divisional Director of Clinical Excellence. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Mobility LPN performs multi‑skilled activities to support patient mobility, including, but not limited to, ambulation, transfers to/from chair, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, and total lifts to chair using lift equipment to achieve desired outcomes. The LPN will be responsible for updating the highest level of mobility performed each shift for assigned patients, as well as updating mobility documentation such as AM‑PAC scores.

Requirements

Graduate of a Practical Nurse Program and successful completion of the LPN NCLEX with a minimum of one year of patient care work experience in a health care facility.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs (continuous or infrequent as applicable).

Ability to perform job functions from elevated or confined spaces.

Ability to bend and twist at the waist; squat; perform kneeling; and perform gross motor activities with fingers and hands (continuous or frequent as applicable).

Ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force and lift/drag objects up to 50 lbs from floor to 36 inches and from 36 inches to overhead (infrequent or frequent as applicable).

Maintain vision, hearing, and peripheral vision acuity; maintain tactile and olfactory sensory functions as required.

Additional Qualifications

Licensed as an LPN within South Carolina or a compact state.

Current CPR card (AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer).

Computer literate and confident in effective verbal and written communication.

Commitment to patient‑centered care philosophy and excellent interpersonal skills.
