is currently seeking an experienced
Occupational Therapist (OT)
for a
full time, part time, or PRN
opportunity performing outpatient visits for our office. This office services adult and geriatric patients on a per visit basis in senior living communities throughout McLean, VA.
As a home care Occupational Therapist, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary health care team that provides rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, affording them the opportunity to receive the medical care required to remain at home.
Occupational Therapist Responsibilities
Perform outpatient therapy evaluations to develop a plan of care for patients in designated senior living communities or in a group home setting for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Professionally operate at the top of licensure utilizing current research-based approaches to care in order to maximize functional independence for clients.
Work closely with home health therapy partners to appropriately transition care from home health to outpatient services, achieving client-centered goals in their living environment.
Educate clients, families, and community caregivers on the care plans to maximize functional independence.
Perform evaluations, treatments, and proper discharge planning, utilizing outpatient EMR platform to deliver and document individualized treatment approaches that meet client needs.
Occupational Therapist Qualifications
A current VA Occupational Therapist license.
Prior home care experience preferred, but not required.
A minimum of one year of recent work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
