About the Role
Bedi Dental Group is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated
Dental Hygienist
to join our established practice. Our ideal candidates accept a high level of responsibility and work with Dentists to create treatment plans so they can more efficiently care for patients. Duties include cleaning teeth, taking X-rays, examining oral health, applying preventative agents and maintaining patient records. We welcome Hygienists who are excellent communicators, organized, and can build strong relationships with both patients and co-workers.
Key Responsibilities
Provide hygiene treatment to patients.
Review daily schedule with the patient care coordinator for hygiene patients.
Review patient health and dental history forms and update as necessary.
Perform scaling, root planning, and selective polishing for patients as appropriate.
Polish restorations.
Take radiographs of patients as prescribed by dentist.
Gather and review patient charts for the day.
Maintain a supply inventory for hygiene treatments.
Maintain treatment room to ensure cleanliness and sterilization per OSHA regulations.
Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluorides and sealants.
Accurately and appropriately record provided treatments.
Teach proper oral hygiene techniques to patients.
Counsel patients on oral health and nutrition.
Qualifications
State licensure to practice Dental Hygiene, and meet all applicable state requirements.
Completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Experience with Dental Assistance specific to Periodontics.
Experience providing prophylaxis and taking X-rays.
Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists and coworkers.
Strong computer skills (list of specific dental software previously worked with).
Open Dental knowledge is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff.
