Duration: 3+ Months (Possible Extension)
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 6:00-3:00. Every 3rd Saturday 6:00-11:00
Position Summary
The
Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
serves as the frontline representative of the organization, providing high-quality phlebotomy services to patients seeking routine health evaluations or critical diagnostic testing. This role is responsible for collecting accurate and safe blood specimens, preparing them for laboratory analysis, and delivering exceptional patient care. The Phlebotomist I is expected to foster an environment of trust, professionalism, and patient comfort while upholding strict confidentiality, compliance, and safety standards.
Under the supervision of the Area Supervisor, this position performs day-to-day responsibilities efficiently, maintains a clean and professional workspace, and consistently demonstrates strong organizational commitment and leadership behaviors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen processing tasks accurately, efficiently, and according to established procedures.
Collect high-quality forensic and clinical specimens (including pediatric and geriatric patients) using proper venipuncture and capillary techniques.
Verify patient identification, label specimens correctly, and ensure compliance with safety and quality guidelines.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and professional work environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Provide clear communication to patients, explaining procedures and ensuring a comfortable and confident experience.
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrate strong organizational commitment and professionalism while promoting a positive client and public image.
Work independently with minimal on-site supervision, meeting productivity and quality expectations.
Support staffing needs by being available for weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Medical training (Medical Assistant, EMT/Paramedic) preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred (Mandatory in CA, NV, WA)
Experience:
Minimum
6 months of phlebotomy experience
required
1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred
Customer service experience preferred (retail or service environment)
Strong keyboard/data entry skills required
Additional Requirements
Must list home city and commute time on resume (must live within 20–25 minutes of jobsite).
Pay rate is based on documented, direct phlebotomy experience—overlapping experience will not be double-counted.
Candidates currently enrolled in school must ensure
no schedule conflicts
with the required shift.
Must have reliable personal transportation (public transport, rideshare, or drop-offs are not acceptable).
Must be punctual, able to work full scheduled shifts, and maintain acceptable attendance.
Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
