Overview
What You Will Do

As a Senior Instrumentation and Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for the electrical design, layout, and drafting of industrial facilities, primarily Semiconductor. The senior designer will take client/project requirements, direction from engineer, national and customer standards and produce designs that meet those requirements, as well as direct and mentor other designers.

A Typical Day at Prime Controls

Performs client contact duties when required by the project engineer, project manager, or account manager (PM/AM).

Coordinates with project engineer, PM/AM, and other disciplined engineers.

Performs site investigations.

Responsible for specification adherence.

Cost estimating to assist the project engineer.

Performs wire and conduit sizing calculations, voltage drop calculations, and conduit fill calculations.

Responsible for designing:

BIM Construction Coordination

Electrical one-lines, and schematics

Instrument Locations / Placement / Process Tubing Connections

Panel Locations

Conduit Plans

Cable tray plans

Heat Trace plans

Area classification drawings based on P&IDs, piping and plot plans

Instrument layout plans

What You Will Bring

The Basic

4 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical design

Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent experience in I & E Design

Strong experience with AutoCAD including

Using blocks

Using XREFs

Developing templates

Import and Export of data and drawings

3D Cable tray design experience, preferably in Revit.

Grounding and lightning protection design in accordance with NEC article 250 and NFPA 780

Willingness to learn and use grounding and lightning protection design software

Experience with SKM is desired. Especially exporting to AutoCAD.

Experience with AGI32 is desired. Especially exporting to AutoCAD.

Ability to read, understand, and apply customer standards.

Ability to help create and follow company processes.

Navisworks experience

SharePoint experience
