Legal Assistant / Paralegal
We are excited to partner with a leading boutique criminal defense firm in Miami Lakes to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal. This in-office role is for a "jack-of-all-trades" professional who can manage high-profile front-office duties while handling substantive paralegal work and court filings.
The ideal candidate has a strong legal background with a professional and polished communication style. We are seeking a self-motivated, disciplined, and trustworthy professional who thrives in a boutique environment and is excited to manage both administrative and paralegal tasks. You should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-stakes role where absolute confidentiality and professional neutrality are required.
Compensation & Schedule
Base Salary:
$65,000
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Lunch:
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Paid Time Off:
10 days of PTO per year
Paid Holidays:
Firm observes all major holidays (including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Labor Day, and Memorial Day)
Key Responsibilities
Office Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and visitors, representing the firm with a polished and welcoming presence
Court Filings:
Manage and execute electronic filings (e-filing) for both State and Federal court systems
Paralegal Documentation:
Draft, format, and organize legal documents and PDFs for attorney review and court submission
Case Management:
Utilize practice management software to track case files and maintain organized records
Confidentiality:
Handle sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and high-profile case details with the highest level of discretion
Qualifications
Legal Expertise:
Solid law firm experience as a practicing Paralegal with a mandatory background in criminal law
Bilingual:
Fluent in English and Spanish
Technical Skills:
Proficient with digital document/PDF management and legal CRM software
Attributes:
Trustworthy, self-motivated, and capable of working without direct supervision. Professional objectivity and professional neutrality are essential for success in this environment.
