Job Description
Laura Buick-GMC is looking for motivated, competitive, and hard‑working technicians who take pride in their work and are looking for industry-leading pay coupled with huge opportunities for available work. Our dealership is the #1 Buick‑GMC sales volume dealership in the country and our service department is overflowing with available work from a huge car park of local customers.
We offer flat rate hourly wages starting at $39 per hour for Journeymen Technicians that increase up to $42 per hour based on training levels achieved, plus Union Healthcare, 401k, and vacation. In addition to our base wages, we offer big efficiency bonuses for technicians over 100% efficiency. Illinois law provides a 1.5 time multiplier on warranty repairs, now making most warranty jobs profitable for our technicians. Our shop runs well above 100% efficiency each week, leading to big flat rate weekly pay opportunity.

We will invest in candidates who show a willingness to grow with our company through our Apprentice program, which provides the path for technicians to learn the craft and become Journeymen technicians.
Responsibilities
Maintains a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair
Conducts extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations
Inspects vehicles according to the state’s requirements for emissions and safety
Conducts necessary repairs and takes vehicles for test drives to verify soundness
Maintains legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records
Cleans and maintains the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Must be willing to participate in in‑house training
Must be able to operate all auto repair tools
Must have knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment
