AVID Energy Solutions, a Mass Save Partner®, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated

Senior Lead HVAC Technician and Installer

to join our team in Worcester, MA and lead a crew earning

$80,000 - $150,000+ with uncapped commissions

helping customers with energy efficiency and utility cost savings.

This person must be organized and well-skilled in all aspects of HVAC installations and service. The ideal candidate will have experience working for a company that partners with the Mass Save® program, however, it is not required. This person will be expected to install, maintain, repair, and service heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), heat pumps, boiler/hydronics, ventilation, air conditioning (AC) systems and related equipment.

We are looking to hire an individual who wants to play a key role in the company and have a long career. Compensation is based on experience; we are looking for individuals who want the opportunity for increased earning and growth potential in the company. We offer very competitive hourly wages.

Our crews are made up of a lead and two other techs.

Essential Job Functions & Qualifications

3+ years experience preferred in system startup and installation

Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship is preferred

Active driver’s license with no/minimal driving infractions

License and/or certification for Sheet metal, and/or EPA, and/or Plumbing

OSHA 10 required and OSHA 30 preferred

Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install ventilation and exhaust systems, air ducts with actuated dampers

Diagnose equipment malfunctions by auditory means and testing devices such as meters and probes

Listen and look for any abnormalities with the system such as piston slap, oil leakage, and unusual or excessive vibration

Trace and troubleshoot control system wiring, connections and ensure that all covers and panels are properly installed

Test for refrigerant leaks by means of a halide leak detector, a liquid soap solution, or other approved methods

Use oxyacetylene, propane torch for soldering and brazing pipe

Maintain, repair, hot water boilers, heat pumps of various tonnages, low-pressure steam boilers, forced air, and other related equipment

Work 7:30am - 5:00pm daily and additional hours as needed / required

Good work ethic, can-do attitude, and do the right thing even when no one is watching

Consistent tidy appearance

Able to understand verbal and written instructions

Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Able to organize assigned tasks, for completion alone or with help

Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and solve problems with minimal supervision

Ability to enter and maneuver in crawl spaces, basements and attics as needed

Bilingual preferred but not required

Travels frequently within assigned territory

Consent to a CORI background check and drug test screening
