
Watchlist Analyst Junior

Purpose and Impact
Amentum provides warning and all-source analytical support to DIA’s Defense Combating Terrorism Office to drive DoD policy, planning, and operational decisions to counter regional and transnational terrorism threats. The role focuses on operational and strategic counterterrorism analysis, supporting national watchlisting, and providing 24/7/365 support to DoD, senior policy decision makers, and interagency partners on predictive threat assessments. Analysts also support the Constitutionally‑mandated Prisoner of War/Missing in Action cell with analysis, collection, and continuous support to the U.S. government for hostage threats or events involving U.S. citizens.
Essential Responsibilities
Systematically and deliberately review DoD datasets for identifying information on known or suspected terrorists.
Identify, prioritize, and record information from DoD datasets as specified by the Government.
Cross‑check and research known or suspected terrorists against other intelligence holdings to ensure completeness and avoid duplication.
Compile information into the nomination report format as specified by the Government, ensuring proper grammar, spelling, and clarity.
Meet the Terrorist Identity Nomination (TIN) production schedule.
Correct and resubmit incorrect reports and prepare reports for dissemination as required.
Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced team members assigned to Watchlisting.
Demonstrate knowledge of IC organizations associated with CT operations, analysis, products, and information systems.
Attend meetings, conferences, intelligence exchanges, and working groups to support DIA’s Watchlisting mission.
Possess general information systems experience with select DoD datasets and intelligence reporting activities to guide National Terrorist Watchlisting policies and procedures.
Show in‑depth understanding of terrorist organizations, including group names, geographic location, leadership, activities, and ideology.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Watchlist Analyst – Performs all‑source intelligence analysis of DoD datasets to identify and nominate known or suspected terrorists into the National Terrorist Watchlisting system. Develops DoD recommendations for the no‑fly, selectee, or other national terrorist watch lists as appropriate, fulfilling the DoD component of Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs) 6 and 11. Reviews DoD datasets for identifying information and produces analytic reports using DIA’s Watchlisting Data Organizer (WATCHDOG) and other internal DIA production tools.

2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
At least 4 years of experience in the specific labor category, with at least 2 years within the last 2 years.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
Understanding of the 200 Series of ODNI’s ICDs (203, 206, 208).
Ability to produce formal written strategic counterterrorism and all‑source intelligence assessments, products, graphics, and briefings in accordance with ICD 203, DIA, and ODNI standards.
Proficiency with research databases such as the Global Terrorism Database and use of quantifiable matrices to prepare written and oral products on complex topics.
Compensation
