Maintenance Technician
Location: Motley, MN
M-F 7:30-3:30pm Seasonal (May-October)
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the homes and all areas related to the day-to-day maintenance operations of the community we care for.
This is a non-exempt, full-time, seasonal position.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
Clear background check
Current driver’s license without restrictions and ability to be insured under Artesian Home’s insurance policy
High school diploma or equivalent required
1-2 years building maintenance preferred
Self-starter dedicated to continual quality improvement
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Required to reach, and use fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls
Required to walk, sit, stand, bend, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move continually during working hours
Knowledge of general construction equipment and operation
Ability to move quickly
Attention to detail regarding upkeep of the facility
Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Chain of Command
The Maintenance position reports to the Facilities Manager
Job Responsibilities (In addition to the KRAs)
Coordinate with supervisor to complete projects and work orders efficiently
Minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry,and painting
Perform preventative HVAC maintenance work
Repair locking systems on doors and cabinets
Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments
Perform regular preventative maintenance and services to appliances and vehicles
Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform maintenance and service
Travel from site to site to inspect facilities, buildings, and grounds for routine maintenance
Load and deliver furniture
Help move the persons we serve
Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
Pick up litter, debris and keep the ground healthy
Planting and laying mulch
Other duties as assigned
Ability to work independently with little direction. Ability to work with peers in a team situation. Oral communication skills and positive social behavior. Demonstrates a learning attitude toward solving problems. Demonstrates ability to take direction. Ability to follow a timeline and meet deadlines. Strong time management skills required. Takes initiative to help others. Demonstrates the passion to continually learn and upgrade skill set to match the changing job conditions. Demonstrates accountability for own actions. Must be willing and able to travel to all Artesian Homes.
