Key Responsibilities

The Department of Health & Human Services is seeking a highly organized, self-starting individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing projects, analyzing and summarizing data, and ensuring services adhere to applicable laws and policies. A key component of this position involves gathering input from children, youth, individuals, and families, and working collaboratively with providers and colleagues to identify system improvements and promote best practices. The successful candidate will have experience assessing service quality, recognizing potential risks, and formulating clear, concise recommendations for improvement.
Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:
Assisting with determining the scope and objective of reviews/projects.
Identifying and promoting strengths in provider and clinical practices.
Gathering input from children, youth, individuals and families regarding services.
Working with colleagues to obtain information necessary to complete reviews/projects.
Analyzing and summarizing data.
Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and department policies.
Recognizing existing and potential weaknesses and providing recommendations for improvement.
Gathering documentation to create work papers necessary to support your review findings.
Identifying trends in the review process for system improvement.
Writes clear and concise reports.
Collaborating with providers and teams to identify how to strengthen services.
Qualifications
The ability to get along well with people and a high comfort level in constantly communicating with colleagues in order to share and obtain timely information necessary to complete reviews/projects.
The ability to recognize problems and potential risks and formulate recommendations for improvement.
The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to obtain quality information from interviews in a non-threatening way.
Experience assessing or providing guidance on the quality of services.
Has the ability to work independently, is a self-starter, and has strong organizational skills with the ability to manage own workload to meet required deadlines.
This position requires some statewide travel.
Supplemental Information
Effective July 1, 2021, State of Utah Employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to within 30 days of their start date.
This position may currently be a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion, at any time and for any reason.
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
