RJW Logistics Group is hiring for a Material Handler. This role focuses on loading and unloading trucks, picking orders, and maintaining warehouse organization.

Shift + Pay:

Sun‑Wed 5:00 am – 3:30 pm, $19.00 per hour.

Job Purpose
To perform loading / unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers, ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse, and pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Loading / unloading truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.

Picking items that weigh from 1 lb to 50 lb or more, multiple times per shift.

Ensuring all documentation is properly completed.

Co‑ordinating with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.

Storing inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.

Marking all shipments appropriately before storing or picking.

Maintaining warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.

Spotting trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into the warehouse.

Co‑ordinating paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.

Performing general maintenance of the area surrounding the warehouse.

Sweeping trailers clean of debris when empty.

Ensuring all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.

Processing outbound freight and cross‑dock freight as necessary.

Operating stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.

Following all safety procedures at all times.

Building and breaking down pallets.

Working in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.

Completing other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Additional Responsibilities

Operating a forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.

Maintaining good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.

Maintaining orderly operation of the warehouse.

Qualifications

1 year forklift driving experience.

Certified forklift license.

Education and Experience Required
High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Language Skills

Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variable situations with limited standardization.

Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.

Ability to determine root cause of a problem and develop corrective action.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Business Operating Systems, Internet software, Word processing, and Spreadsheet software.

Physical Demands

Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lb.

Operate phone systems and use keyboard and buttons.

Speak clearly in front of others.

Primarily work indoors; sitting and/or repetitive hand motion.

Talk, hear, stand, and walk regularly.

Work over 8 continuous hours when required.

Operate under stressful conditions, maintaining accuracy and multitasking.

Read and discern visual images on various media with 20/20 corrected vision.

Communicate clearly over telephone.

Be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician, with no controlled substance use.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
