Position Summary
Lead Registered Behavior Technician (Lead RBT)
serves as an
execution leader for in‑home ABA services , supporting high‑quality implementation, staff readiness, and day‑to‑day service delivery. This role also requires 20 hours per week of billed services. Lead RBTs focus on
how services are delivered
– providing in‑session coaching, supporting treatment fidelity, and helping new staff succeed – while all clinical decision‑making, treatment planning, and supervision remain the responsibility of the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is ideal for experienced RBTs who enjoy mentoring others, modeling best practices, and supporting consistent, high‑quality care in home‑based environments.
Key Responsibilities
Execution Leadership & Fidelity
Provide in‑session coaching and modeling for BTs/RBTs delivering in‑home services
Support treatment fidelity using BCBA‑defined plans and expectations
Address day‑to‑day implementation challenges in real time
Promote consistent, professional session flow across learners and environments
Training & Staff Readiness
Support onboarding and shadowing for new BTs working in home settings
Model effective session structure, professionalism, and caregiver interaction
Assist with preparing BTs for RBT certification and independent service delivery within expected timelines
Communication & Team Support
Serve as first‑line support for RBT questions and implementation concerns
Communicate relevant session observations and trends to the supervising BCBA
Support non‑clinical parent communication and elevate clinical concerns appropriately
Professionalism & Culture
Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful team environment
Model ethical practice, professionalism, and family‑centered care in home settings
Scope Clarification
The Lead RBT Does Not
Develop or modify treatment plans
Make clinical decisions or interpret clinical data
Independently provide formal parent training
Fulfill supervision or payer documentation requirements
All clinical authority remains with the supervising BCBA.
Qualifications
Active RBT certification (required)
CPR and First Aid certification
Minimum high school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of ABA therapy experience (in‑home experience strongly preferred)
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and support peers
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Comfort working independently in home‑based environments
Flexibility to support scheduling needs
Travel to client homes
Ability to pass a background check
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs
