Summary
Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Responsible for maintaining a neat and clean deli operation in accordance with all corporate and state sanitation guidelines. Orders and manages product inventory to promote optimal sales opportunities. Assists the deli manager with budgeting and financial aspects of the department and oversees clerks within the department.
Pay Range
$18.50 - $25.00
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Deliver fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
Smile, make eye contact and thank customers upon fulfilling their requests.
Maintain a neat and clean workstation at all times.
Assist the deli manager with the day‑to‑day operation of the deli department, including scheduling, inventory maintenance and financial aspects.
Merchandise all deli food products, including pricing, rotation, shelf allotment and displays.
Prepare in‑store made food programs and roast chicken side orders for the Roaster Chicken program.
Perform sanitation duties within the department in accordance with corporate and state regulations (e.g., cleaning slicers, dishes, hot cases and floor).
Maintain a high level of customer courtesy and service at all times.
Stock deli warehouse orders.
Operate deli department product‑weight scales and slicers as well as various other departmental equipment.
Maintain cold case logs, hot food logs and cooling logs consistent with store policy.
Consistently work within company efficiency standards and control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum age of 18 years.
Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow‑through to achieve desired results and objectives.
Strong communication and basic literacy skills.
Basic computer skills.
Positive performance reviews.
Education And Experience
High School degree or equivalent and 6‑12 months of related experience.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to hot environment – occasional 1‑3 hours.
Exposure to cold environment – occasional 1‑3 hours.
Standing – constant 5‑8 hours.
Walking – constant 5‑8 hours.
Grasping/Finger movement & dexterity – constant 5‑8 hours.
Bending – frequent 3‑5 hours.
Twisting – frequent 3‑5 hours.
Pivoting – frequent 3‑5 hours.
Squatting/Kneeling – occasional 1‑3 hours.
Pushing/Pulling – occasional 1‑3 hours up to 2400 lbs.
Lifting – frequent 3‑5 hours up to 25 lbs.
Lifting – occasional 1‑3 hours up to 50 lbs.
