Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills and respond to student learning needs.
Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student growth.
Experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice and providing feedback on growth to students and parents.
Interpersonal and communication skills with experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
Behaviour and attitude consistent with Department values, and experience reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.
Role
The classroom teacher classification includes two salary ranges. Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance and supporting the implementation of school strategies, while Range 1 teachers are focused on developing effective classroom practice under guidance. In both ranges, teachers plan, prepare and deliver programs to achieve specific student outcomes and engage in critical reflection to enhance learning.
Responsibilities
Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or other curriculum programs within the school.
Undertaking additional classroom‑related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
Undertaking other non‑teaching supervisory duties.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.
