Position
Experienced Kennel Technician – Full‑time, 4 10‑hour shifts alternating Saturday/Sunday.

Powell, Tennessee – Powell Animal Hospital.
About You
We are seeking an experienced Kennel Technician / Veterinary Assistant to join our fast‑paced, compassionate veterinary practice. This role is ideal for someone who already has a solid foundation in animal care and is ready to take on a more active role supporting both kennel operations and medical staff.
Experience & Skills
Previous experience preferred (kennel, veterinary clinic, boarding facility, or animal shelter)
Confidence handling animals of all sizes and temperaments
Working knowledge of basic animal care and clinic flow
Ability to stay calm and effective in a busy, sometimes high‑stress environment
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Team‑oriented mindset with solid communication skills
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures
Safely restrain animals for exams, treatments, and diagnostics
Provide basic grooming services – bathing, nail trimming, and anal gland expression
Feed, walk, and monitor hospitalized and/or boarding patients
Clean and disinfect exam rooms, kennels, and surgical areas
Prepare instruments and treatment areas
Support lab work (sample collection, basic testing, record keeping)
Maintain accurate patient records
Provide excellent client service, including answering questions and supporting check‑in/out
