New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support visitors and staff with strong customer service and communication. What You’ll Do:
Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or public agency contacts.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, platforms, stations, offices, parking areas, and/or perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and public areas, verify credentials when required, and communicate clearly with staff and/or visitors regarding entry procedures, restricted areas, and site rules.
Support crowd management, traffic flow, and/or public assistance efforts during routine operations, special events, service disruptions, and/or emergency situations in a high‑visibility government setting.
Minimum Requirements:
A New York State Security Guard License is required.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
