Custodian
The Recreational Services Department is seeking custodians to join our team. Responsibilities include:

Dust and mop floors.

Vacuum carpets.

Clean restrooms and restock paper and soap supplies.

Perform routine maintenance on custodial equipment and supplies.

Empty trash receptacles and bag trash for proper disposal.

Change light bulbs as directed.

Lock doors after cleaning areas.

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Assist with snow removal activities as needed.

Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.

Night Shift: 9:00 pm - 5:30 am

Position Summary:

Minimum qualifications: Less than high school; no previous experience required. A completed degree from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred qualifications: None.

Conditions of Employment:

Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.

If assigned to the Athletics Department, must comply with all NCAA rules and regulations.

Must submit to post‑offer, pre‑employment physical examination and medical history check.

Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas must comply with the university’s influenza vaccination requirement.

All regular, non‑temporary positions in this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Location: Albuquerque, NM. Department: Recreational Services (823A). Employment type: Staff, Term‑Full‑Time. Pay: Hourly $16.11. Benefits: This position is benefits eligible; the University of New Mexico offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and educational benefits.
