Job Summary
Registered or certified Medical Assistant to coordinate surgeons schedules and assists patients with scheduling surgical procedures.
General Duties
Coordinates surgical procedure date with patient and according to assigned providers templates.
Schedules and provides patient with details of preparation and or instructions.
Confirms and enters patient demographic information along with insurance information.
Obtains prior authorizations for scheduled procedures.
Reschedules as needed.
Utilizes providers schedules according to blocks.
Releases blocks not utilized timely in accordance with block policies.
Opens block schedules as needed to maximize provider schedules.
Maintains templates for assigned provider.
Responsible for entering assigned provider time off.
Performs a variety of routine clerical tasks.
Covers department during staff time/days off.
Maintains clean and orderly area.
The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Job Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Previous scheduling work-related experience
Medical Assistant Course completion is required, Registered or certified preferred
Computer skills
EPIC experience a plus
