Overview
Description
The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking a
Telecommunications Engineering Technician
to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area - Engineering Services Group located in Albuquerque, NM.
The ideal candidate will support the daily operations of FAA's
the Telecommunications Systems . This new system will replace outdated infrastructure including radar, software, hardware and telecommunications networks to manage modern travel.
Responsibilities
Review FAA databases and provide input and or draft Site Survey Reports (SSR).
Conduct site surveys to provide input and/or draft Site Survey Reports.
Coordinate schedules with SSC, ES, and vendor personnel.
Draft Project Risk Plans (PRP) and Operational Risk Management Plans (ORMP).
Generate and/or update drawings, sketches, and artifacts.
Draft project plans for site preparation activities.
Coordinate scheduled outages with SSC, Air Traffic and Operations personnel.
Develop transition plans.
Resolve schedule conflicts.
Accompany unbadged personnel at facilities.
Work with LECs on schedules.
Develop briefings/information/reports on District status.
Work with other Districts/SSC on interstate service flows, transitions, cutovers, planning, etc.
Support District POC and SSCs with day-to-day work activities.
Review and provide comments on vendor Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree and 2 to 6 years. Additional experience may be substituted/considered/accepted in lieu of degree.
Ability to travel 75-100%.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).
Proficiency in MS Office Suites.
Desired Qualifications
2+ years of experience working with Telco systems performing Network Troubleshooting.
Proficient working with AutoCAD or similar tools.
Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Assoc (NFPA) standards, National Airspace System Equipment Tower.
Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
Knowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG.
