Position Details
Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Texas Armed in Houston, TX. This role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.
Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour
Job Schedule: Daytime Th – 06:00 AM – 03:00 PM
How This Role Works:
Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shift”): a six‑month commitment at a designated site and weekly shift.
Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and/or staff by following site‑specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities at a retail location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem‑solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities when appropriate.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the store, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑traffic areas for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or potential loss prevention concerns, and report observations according to post instructions.
Assist with emergency situations, medical calls, evacuations, and/or de‑escalation efforts while maintaining a visible presence and supporting a professional environment.
Minimum Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age.
Have 3+ years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5+ years of armed security experience.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
