Records and provides relevant and accurate data to physicians for diagnostic use in the treatment of patients with sleep/wake disorders.**Job Description*** Educates patients on prescribed therapies and sleep testing procedures; provides follow-up as needed* Performs Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing across all patient populations* Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of testing equipment, including use, function, physiological impact, and basic maintenance/troubleshooting* Applies principles of anatomy and physiology related to procedures performed* Monitors patients and documents care accurately in the medical record per facility guidelines* Troubleshoots technical issues and contacts support as necessary* Maintains knowledge of disease processes and pathological conditions encountered* Adheres to American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and accreditation requirements* Provides care to patients of all ages, addressing unique growth and developmental needs* Participates in scoring and tabulation of studies as required by department needs* Oversees students and/or staff involved in patient care as part of training programs* Performs additional department-specific duties as assigned**Qualifications**Graduate of an accredited program in Electroneurodiagnostic Technology, Respiratory Technology or other medical specialty preferred.
Minimum of two years of related work experience in Sleep Disorders field preferred.Possess knowledge of sleep disorders, electrical safety, with the skill to utilize computers for patient documentation and data gathering for patient care.
If RRT, required to obtain RPSGT or Sleep Disorder Specialty (RRT-SDS) credential within 2 years of startingin role or must be enrolled in one of the following:1. Must be enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP Online Self Study Modules. Non-registered technologists and technicians must complete A-STEP Online Self Study Modules within two years of enrollment. OR2.
