
Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician - HealthAlliance Hospital

HealthAlliance Hospital, part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), is seeking a board‑certified/board‑eligible pulmonary/critical‑care physician. The role is primarily outpatient‑focused, emphasizing pulmonary and sleep medicine, with limited inpatient consultative and ICU coverage.
Job Responsibilities
Outpatient Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine
Diagnose and manage COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary nodules.
Provide evaluation and treatment for sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea and insomnia.
Interpret pulmonary function tests.
Work closely with referring providers and respiratory therapists to optimize patient care.
Inpatient Consultative Services
Provide pulmonary consultations for hospitalized patients on an as‑needed basis.
Work closely with the hospital’s medical staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality patient care.
ICU Coverage
Participate in occasional ICU rounding or consults, offering critical‑care expertise.
Collaborate with ICU nurses and physicians to manage critically ill patients as needed.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with advanced practice providers (APPs), nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Participate in departmental initiatives, quality improvement projects, and hospital committees.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records.
Follow hospital guidelines for billing, coding, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
MD or DO degree.
Board certified/board eligible in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
Additional sleep medicine certification or interest in sleep medicine is preferred but not required.
Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
