Controls Technician – Milwaukee, WI:
As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting production and processing operations, sanitation, and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.
Shift hours:
*Currently hiring for 2nd shift*
Ability and willingness to work overtime, and weekends and holidays
Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Pay:
$43.82 per hour starting.
Pay for skill program for higher pay rates up to $45.22 per hour
Benefits:
15 days (120 hours) of vacation annually and 11 paid holidays

Working with HIGH-LEVEL operators on EXPERIENCED teams that are looking to pass down their knowledge to workers WILLING TO LEARN and get paid doing it

Apply electrical, electronic theory and mechanical knowledge to build, repair, calibrate, troubleshoot and modify electrical components, circuitry, and controls. The troubleshooting of current systems and the design and implementation of system improvements and project work.
Key control systems resource for the shift
Execute controls related work orders generated by operators, mechanics and engineers.
Work with the Controls Engineers to develop plans and priorities for plant controls projects and problems
Develop working knowledge, including specification, design, troubleshooting and programming of:
PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s, Wonderware, AB PanelView, servos, and sensors
Process PID loops and instrumentation
Controls related networks, DeviceNet, ControlNet, servers, InSql, and InCuity.
Emergency Stop Systems and Classifications
AC/DC motors and motor control circuits
Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems
Instrument/equipment calibration
Complete necessary training to upgrade skills pertaining to effective maintenance of equipment and systems.
Play an active role applying GMI control system design standards.
Responsible for proper documentation of work performed
Perform training to plant & maintenance personnel.
What you have to offer:
Associates degree or equivalent plus 3 years of related experience.
Licensed industrial electrician preferred and required within 2 years of start date
Ability to perform at a Basic Mechanic level
Knowledge of electric theory and perform electrical calculations
Proficient in reading electrical drawings, identifying components and wiring.
Ability to troubleshoot using electrical instruments and circuit knowledge.
Ability to install, wire and maintain relays, photo-eyes, limit switches, proximity switches, solenoid valves, motors, starters, VFD’s, PLC I/O modules, analog control devices, safety circuits, etc
Ability to install and maintain metal detectors, checkweighers, date coders and case coders
Basic skills in using RSLogix 5000, 500, 5, RSLinx, Mass Autosave, RSNetworx, and RSLinx
Use the National Electrical Code, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, supporting codes and General Mills Standards to perform work in a quality manner.
Physical requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
