We are seeking an onsite Safety Specialist for our Forth Worth location.
Summary
Provide a broad range of hands‑on support and services across all functional areas related to Safety, including developing safety plans, enforcing policies, conducting risk assessments, delivering training, investigating incidents aligned with operating units’ business goals and objectives, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture in the workplace.
The role’s focus is to create and sustain consistency in Safety compliance while providing new and innovative ideas to help build and promote teamwork, morale and growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
Maintain & apply knowledge of current safety policies, regulations, and operational processes.
Assist with the onboarding process, ensuring that all new hires join the company in a positive and consistent manner across all locations.
Assist with developing material for training as needed.
Identify and implement communication initiatives for managers and employees to increase understanding and commitment to business strategies and programs.
Inspect facilities, jobsites, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Investigate work related incidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures including interviewing customers and employees to obtain information regarding work environments, and workplace incidents.
Review and report findings from incident investigations, facilities/ jobsite inspections, or environmental testing with all applicable personnel.
Follow through and follow up to completion all incident investigation processes.
Assist with managing interactions with OSHA as needed.
Assist in conducting or facilitating supervisory and field level training to ensure training with company and regulatory requirements.
Attend and provide appropriate input at Unit Operational (OU) meetings including pre-construction and production meetings.
Attend meetings with customers as needed to address anticipated safety related requirements or others encountered when performing work.
Conduct meetings with supervisors and employees to discuss regulatory requirements, cited violations, lessons learned, potential hazards, and resolve disputes regarding occupational safety concerns.
Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to workplace hazards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill & Experience (Essential)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Knowledge of safety-related practices and procedures related to the Roofing Industry
Knowledge of Workers Compensation, OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations
Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages including Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with all personnel
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)
Fluent in Spanish, both verbal and written
Knowledge of business and management principles
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet program, including strong analytical abilities.
Roofing or Construction experience
OSHA 500
Trainer status for Forklift operations
Trainer status for Mobile Elevated Work Platforms
Trainer status for CERTA
First Aid/AED/CPR Trainer
Able to obtain other training certifications as needed.

Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders. Repetitive keying, typing. Occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds.
Travel: As required, possibly 50%
Hours: Not subject to overtime
