Job Summary
Perform maintenance and repair of mobile equipment in company shops or on public roadways. Maximize equipment availability through efficient and proactive preventive maintenance programs.
Job Responsibilities
Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment such as tires, ready‑mix concrete trucks, and heavy construction equipment.
Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
Perform routine preventive maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
Conduct routine brake inspections and adjustments on commercial vehicles following Federal DOT requirements.
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components of concrete mixer trucks.
Remove components for repair or replacement such as injectors, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, etc.
Create accurate work orders for repairs and services.
Coordinate with location supervisor and review pre‑trip truck inspections to prioritize work.
Enter daily repair reports into a software‑based tracking program.
Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to preventive vehicle maintenance policies and practices.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
Order parts from approved vendors and drive the company pickup/repair truck when necessary.
Operate fixed and mobile equipment as required.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of fixed equipment as needed.
Adhere to all CEMEX and OSHA rules and regulations.
Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
Meet or exceed company safety standards.
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Mechanical experience.
Must have own tools up to 1 ¼.”
English language proficiency (read, write, speak).
High school diploma preferred.
Bilingual a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working Conditions
Regularly required to talk and hear for communication and safety around heavy rolling equipment.
Continuous exposure to extreme heat, cold, noise, and outdoor work.
Must wear protective equipment at all locations.

Perform job functions including walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and operating controls.
Heavy work: Exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
Require walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
Exert 50–100 pounds occasionally.
Exert 25–50 pounds frequently.
