Summary
The Administrative Medical Assistant will be responsible for the coordination of direct patient care activities and providing clinical and administrative support to providers.

Bonus Available

Responsibilities
Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout the visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
Proactively check the provider's schedule and review information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit.
Proactively obtain any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date.
Upon arrival, captures patient's vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information.
Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Based on Training and Certification Scope
Able to respond to patient callbacks and phone-in prescription refill requests.
Able to administer medication and injections as directed by Physician/Provider.
Able to perform phlebotomy on patients as directed by the Physician/Provider.
Able to perform EKGs, PFTs spirometry, nebulizer treatments, ear irrigations, and other procedures as required by the practice and directed by the Physician/Provider.
Able to perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician/provider.
Able to perform sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures/surgeries according to CDC guidelines.
Maintains all certifications/licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency with equivalent experience.
Basic computer skills, including navigating databases containing highly confidential information.
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days.
Prior working experience as a CNA, EMT, Phlebotomist, Athletic Trainer or other healthcare discipline that provides direct patient care.
Or a Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA).
Or completed any MA education program but not yet certified.
Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and required to successfully complete an MA orientation/externship and any additional training as required by the Provider.
