Winpak Portion Packaging is seeking a
Production Supervisor
(Nights)
to join our Production team based out of
South Chicago Heights, IL . In this role, you will lead daily manufacturing operations, coach and develop production employees, and help drive safety, quality, efficiency, and performance across the shift. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on manufacturing leader who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and building high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced production environment. You will play a key role in supporting plant performance while ensuring employees have the direction, tools, and support needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, output, and efficiency goals.
Supervise, train, coach, and support hourly production employees across the shift.
Monitor production performance, downtime, scrap, and labor usage, and take action to improve results.
Troubleshoot production issues to reduce downtime and maintain operational flow.
Prepare and maintain shift documentation, including production reports, attendance records, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and training records.
Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and food packaging safety requirements.
Communicate staffing needs, production issues, schedule changes, and operational updates to leadership and employees.
Partner with other departments to maintain productive working relationships and support business goals.
Help ensure raw material inventory is properly identified, stored, and managed to support production needs.
Support continuous improvement efforts and day‑to‑day operational excellence across the department.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading or coordinating employees in a production setting.
Experience supporting daily production, safety, quality, and staffing objectives.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to identify and respond to production issues.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Computer skills and experience completing production‑related documentation and reporting.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
ERP experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within manufacturing.
Experience in packaging, food manufacturing, or other regulated production environments.
Experience with employee training, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary documentation.
Experience working with production metrics such as downtime, scrap, labor efficiency, and shift output.
This position is for
Night .
This role is
100% onsite .
Work environment includes approximately
20% office
and
80% production floor .
Production floor conditions may include noise, heights, temperature changes, and working around equipment.
This role regularly supervises hourly shift employees.
Physical requirements include standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
Compensation Range
The compensation range provided is a general guideline only. The pay range is $80k- $95k. Pay will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and expertise and is subject to vary.
