Per Diem Pharmacy Technician
The role supports all functions of Genoa’s mental health and specialty pharmacy, primarily through dispensing medical prescriptions and performing clerical duties under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Pharmacy Hours
Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Lunch 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm)
Schedule
Per diem on an as‑needed basis, covering PTO, callouts, and other business needs.
Location
1527 Albia Road, Suite P, Ottumwa, IA 52501 (home site). Ability to cover all sites in Iowa per business needs.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service to all clinic staff and consumers.
Fill prescription orders and make them available for verification under direct supervision of the registered pharmacist.
Order, receive, and store incoming pharmacy supplies.
Receive and process wholesaler medication orders.
Verify medication stock and enter data into the computer to maintain inventory records.
Assist the pharmacist with pharmacy functions and help keep the pharmacy in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
Perform various clerical duties relating to the department.
Communicate with strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
Other duties as assigned.
Be able to cover the home site in Ottumwa and all other Iowa sites per business needs.
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Iowa.
National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
Access to reliable transportation and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 6 months of Pharmacy Technician experience.
Pay
The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full‑time employment. Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. A comprehensive benefits package is available, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility requirements).
