Shipping Coordinator – Colorado Spring, CO
(1st Shift)
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing the timely and accurate shipment of products to customers and internal stakeholders. This role involves preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, scheduling carriers, tracking shipments, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Shipping Coordinator collaborates closely with warehouse, production, quality, and customer service teams to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
What You Will Do
Stage, verify, and load finished goods and materials for shipment to internal and external customers.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and labels.
Enter and maintain accurate shipment data and tracking information in ERP/MRP and shipping software.
Ensure proper packaging and loading to minimize damage and comply with shipping policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and material movement documentation.
Adhere to safety protocols by using PPE, practicing proper lifting techniques, and reporting safety hazards.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with warehouse, production, quality, and customer service teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, properly storing tools and equipment.
Demonstrate flexibility by cross-training, adapting to new processes or technologies, and working overtime as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
6 months to 1 year of shipping and material experience required.
1+ years of shipping and material movement experience preferred.
Forklift operations experience preferred.
Familiarity with shipping and material movement.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to use proper lifting techniques and material movement equipment effectively.
Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.
Physical Demands
Ability to handle material and parts.
Perform repetitive motions (bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands).
Standing up to 8 hours per shift.
Lifting up to 45 lbs.
Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: The expected base hourly range is $17.50 - $31.00. Actual pay is based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
