POSITION: FINANCE SECRETARY ~ UINTAH MIDDLE SCHOOL

(Full-Time position, 205 day contract with benefits)

District Expectations / Responsibilities for School Secretary

Receives and greets the public, welcomes visitors, new students, parents, etc.

Meets and interacts with public, students, employees in routine situations which require tact, discretion, courtesy and confidentiality.

Prepares for and handles pre-registration and coordinates Kindergarten screening.

Maintains student records including hard copy and SIS (cumulative files, class scheduling, student attendance, etc.).

Maintains absence records for school staff, custodial staff and faculty.

Prepares pay vouchers and submits monthly payroll report.

Maintains school's finance records.

Assists in record keeping for the following: Emergency Drills; Health care plans and medication dispersion.

Orders supplies for school.

Oversees the bell/intercom system.

Answers telephone – takes and delivers messages for principals, teachers, staff, and students, etc.

Assists principal with summaries, surveys, reports, budgets, as required.

Prepares correspondence for faculty and principal.

Receives and receipts school monies including: book money, picture money, money for special programs and fundraisers.

Prepares checks and maintains records for within school expenses such as library books and supplies, and teaching supplies.

Prepares and submits monthly financial reports to the district office.

Distributes daily incoming mail and may be assigned to go to post office or district office to collect mail.

Types programs for school activities and prepares other miscellaneous materials as required by faculty and principal.

Administers first aid – notifies parent and cares for students.

Attends faculty meetings.

Arranges for field or activity buses.

Coordinates with other schools for multi-school activities.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Type speed of 50 wpm or more.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.
